Techcrunch Redesign

All of us at Zumeo Design are big fans of Techcrunch - even though their current design is arguably difficult to look at. Some of us actually used the ‘old school’ method of reading via RSS feed in an effort to avoid having to visit the site. When we heard they were looking to redesign their site, we delivered these designs to our friends at TC and they apparently fancied them. After multiple meetings, championing from a few TC team members, and over 18 RFP responses from agencies nation-wide, ZD took a very close second place to their AOL-backed redesign. These prototypes show what we would have liked to see with the TC site at the time. We delivered the design with only a base level idea of their product goals and design objectives. Some of the decisions were made based on what the TC site’s current structure; but if it were up to us, we would have liked to see a less-is-more approach to content and a flexible, responsive layout. We made some great connections with new members of the TC team and got the opportunity to hear their goals for the future. It is safe to say Zumeo Design is optimistic about the direction they are taking the Techcrunch redesign, and we are excited to convert from RSS reading.
